Big Ideas for Intervention (incorporating Introduction to Numicon yrs 3-6)

Join us for a full day of live online webinars exploring the Numicon Big Ideas resources and Numicon in years 3 to 6. This session is designed for teachers who are new to Numicon and are interested in learning how these resources could support their students from ages 9 and up with learning difficulties or gaps in Maths in an intervention or classroom setting. The Big Ideas resource is also suitable for supporting lower secondary students who have gaps in their learning. We will explore how Numicon supports student learning in providing a strong visual representation of yr 3-6 concepts.

Big Ideas is a program of 48 lessons for 9-12 year olds, and above if required, ideally delivered across 12 weeks, that develops secure understanding of key concepts using an active and practical approach. Sessions are delivered across these big ideas; Number and Place Value, Adding and Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing. Fractions and Working with fractions decimals and percentages.  

Numicon Professional Development seminars are interactive sessions full of practical ideas and hands-on experiences that give Educators the knowledge and tools to successfully implement Numicon in their school or educational setting.

Your trainer Rachel will introduce you to the Numicon Approach, Numicon resources, the Teacher Handbooks and implementation ideas.
