Numicon PD Calendar of Events Term 2 - 2022

Here is our calendar of events for term 2 - 2022. We have scheduled online PD only for term 2 of 2022, but hopefully can offer some face-to-face sessions soon.

ONLINE - Numicon in the Preschool years 

Date: Wednesday 11th May
Time: 9.30am to 12.30am AEST
Cost: $75 

Join us for a 3 hr online webinar for educators of preschool students aged 3 to 5 years. This session will investigate how Numicon is used to explore early number concepts both through informal play and formal hands-on activities.

ONLINE - Introduction to Numicon - Years F-2 
2 x 3hr sessions

Dates and times:

  • Session 1: Wednesday 25th May - 9.30 to 12.30pm AEST
  • Session 2: Wednesday 1st June - 9.30 to 12.30pm AEST

Cost: $175

Join us for 2 three hour live online webinars exploring Numicon in Foundation to Year 2. These sessions are for schools and educators that are new to using Numicon. Explore the Numicon Approach, Numicon resources, the Teacher Handbooks and implementation ideas.

ONLINE - NUMICON INTERVENTION PROGRAM
4 x 3hr sessions - LIMITED NUMBERS

Dates and times:

  • Session 1: Tuesday 24th May - 9.30am to 12.30pm AEST
  • Session 2: Tuesday 31st May - 9.30am to 12.30pm AEST
  • Session 3: Tuesday 14th June - 9.30am to 12.30pm AEST
  • Session 4: Tuesday 21st June - 9.30am to 12.30pm AEST

Cost: $475 including the NIP manual and $146.95 for the Numicon Intervention online subscription available through Oxford University Press -  (we will help to arrange this)

The Numicon Intervention Programme has been developed to support maths intervention for children aged 6+ working at Years 1 to 3 curriculum levels. The intervention lasts 12 weeks, with 2 or 3 lessons a week, depending upon pupils' needs.

This course, delivered over 4 x three hour sessions and is specifically designed for those who will be delivering the program to the children.

ONLINE - Moving on with Numicon in F-2

Date: Thursday 26th May
Time: 9.30am to 11.30am AEST
Cost: $50 

Join us for a 2 hr online webinar for educators in years F-2 who have already completed the initial Introduction to Numicon PD. This session is designed to extend your understanding of using Numicon in the Early Years and will explore problem solving, bar modelling with Cuisenaire rods, using number lines and delve deeper into using the Teacher Handbooks.

ONLINE - Geometry, Measurement and Statistics Foundation -Yr2

Date: Thursday 2nd June
Time: 9.30am to 11.30am AEST

Join us for a 2 hr online webinar for educators in years F-2 who have already completed the initial Introduction to Numicon PD and would like to explore the activities within the Geometry, Measurement and Statistics Teacher books. This session will investigate how Numicon is used to investigate Geometry and Measurement concepts in Foundation to Year 2.

This session is designed for schools who are already familiar with Numicon and are interested in learning how these resources could support their students with learning difficulties or gaps in Maths, as well as those schools interested in using these resources in an intervention setting.
